What is a Family Success Center?
Family Success Centers are community-based, family-centered neighborhood gathering places where any community resident can go for family support, information, and services. Family Success Centers aim to enrich the lives of children and adults by making families and neighborhoods stronger by helping and empowering all families to succeed.
What does the Partnership do?
The Partnership provides training and technical assistance to the network of 40 Family Success Centers across the state of New Jersey. Technical Assistance refers to the individual and group work we do with centers, answering their specific questions, helping them determine their strengths and challenges and assisting them in developing a plan to address areas of challenge in their work with families.
What is technical assistance?
Technical assistance is any help we offer our centers and includes answering specific questions in person, via e-mail or phone regarding any aspect of the work of the Family Success Center network. It includes information shared at regional and statewide networking meetings. In addition, the Partnership engages our centers in a self-assessment process where all the areas of focus on are examined to determine areas of strength and areas of challenge. We then work with each center to develop an action plan for the upcoming year to address areas in which they need to improve. The intention of all technical assistance is to build the capacity of our centers to serve families and communities.
Who funds the Partnership?
The Partnership currently receives funding from New Jersey’s Division of Prevention and Community Partnership and the Nicholson Foundation.
Who does the Partnership serve?
In addition to providing training and technical assistance to the network of 40 Family Success Centers, the Partnership also includes the four Differential Response sites in New Jersey, located in Camden, Gloucester, Union, and Middlesex Counties; and the 14 Family Support Organizations across the state in training opportunities as appropriate.
